At Wye Sanctuary, we believe healthcare information should be accessible to everyone. We are committed to making our website as easy to use as possible for people of all ages, abilities and levels of digital confidence.
We aim to use clear, straightforward language, avoid unnecessary medical jargon, design pages that are easy to navigate, provide readable fonts and good colour contrast, ensure content works on computers, tablets and mobile devices, and improve accessibility as our website develops. Many of our patient information pages are written at approximately a 10–12-year reading age, helping make complex medical information easier to understand without oversimplifying important concepts.
Where possible, this website aims to support keyboard navigation, work with modern screen readers, include descriptive headings, provide meaningful alternative text for images, avoid flashing or rapidly moving content, and use responsive layouts across different devices.
